The Opportunity
This Is Not a "Keep the Lights On" Contract
We are working closely with Phil Payne (Director of IT Customer Experience) and Subesh Dawadi (Solution Architect) at Bidvest Noonan to find a very specific kind of specialist.
We're not looking for someone to maintain existing reports. We need a Master Builder — a practitioner who can take raw operational data at scale and wrap it in a "super coating" of world-class UI/UX that commands attention in a boardroom.
This is a high-visibility, strategic mission with a clear mandate: prove to the Bidvest Noonan board that premium data visualisation is a genuine commercial differentiator — and unlock a long-term seat at the table for FY27.

The architecture is in place — Microsoft Fabric and a unified Data Lake — but the missing ingredient is visual storytelling. That's where you come in.
Your Mission
The "24 Template" Sprint
Your primary objective over three months is clear: design and deliver a standardised suite of 24 Power BI templates that unlock a significant backlog of customer demand. This is not a vague brief — it's a structured, high-impact sprint with a defined output.
The Matrix
Templates are designed across 8 Business Sectors — including Retail, Healthcare, and Education — and 3 Core Services (Cleaning, Security, Hardware), creating a scalable, reusable library of 24 standardised views.
The UX Overhaul
Replace complex, technical drill-downs with intuitive, button-based navigation and App-like interfaces. The goal is a dashboard that a non-technical executive can use confidently from day one — no training required.
Customer Impact
These templates will empower Bidvest Noonan to offer bespoke, executive-grade dashboards to their top 100 "Platinum" clients — replacing functional but uninspiring spreadsheets with a product that commands premium perception.
Ideal Candidate
What We Are Looking For
The right person for this role is rare. You sit at the intersection of design obsession and technical mastery — equally at home debating whitespace ratios and writing robust DAX measures. Three qualities are non-negotiable.
A Designer First
You treat the User Interface as the product, not an afterthought. You have strong opinions on typography, layout, and Information Architecture. You push Power BI beyond its default constraints and would never ship something that looks like a default report template.
Technical Rigour
Mastery of DAX and Power Query is non-negotiable. Every measure you write must be robust, performant, and maintainable. You understand the relationship between a clean data model and a fast, reliable front end — and you won't cut corners on either.
Proactive Accountability
We are looking for an "Owner". When you spot broken UX or messy data logic, you fix it — without waiting to be asked. You operate with the mindset of someone building something they are proud to put their name on, not someone filling hours on a timesheet.

Portfolio Review
You must provide screenshots or links to your strongest Power BI work. We are specifically looking for evidence of visual polish, deliberate UX decisions, and a clear user journey. Functional-but-ugly will not progress.

The Case Study
Finalists receive a sample dataset or a "functional but unpolished" dashboard. Your task: show us how you would transform it into a premium, customer-facing product. This is your moment to demonstrate the gap between good and exceptional.
